Burlap goes beyond the barnyard
For years burlap’s durability made it the perfect fabric for the farm. Transporting plants, heaving loads of produce, and other tough tasks were what this cloth was born to do. But burlap has come a long way from the barnyard. Soft weaves (faux burlap), bright colors, and creative new uses for the fabric are popping up at affairs of all sorts, from the down-home to the down right elegant.
Here are five ways to incorporate burlap into your events:

Burlap Table Runner: Don’t want a full burlap cloth? A table runner can add just a bit of contrast to another cloth. (From a PBS event at the New Leaf Restaurant in Upper Manhattan)

Wrap Favors in Burlap: Wrap a mini tree in burlap and give it away as a memento of your special event. (From Style Me Pretty)

Burlap Chair Sash: Put a new twist on your ballroom chairs with a burlap chair sash and a bit of babies breath. (From Pretty Pink Tulips)

Burlap Bouquet: Tie together your rustic themed event with a thick burlap ribbon around your bouquets. (From Ruffled)

Colorful Burlap: From olive to orange, burlap can brighten up your next event. (From Creative Coverings)
