How do you determine what size linen to pair with your catering tables?

If you are using rectangle tables, add the length of the table top and (2 X the height) to the find the correct floor length linen length. Then repeat this process using the width of the table top to find the floor length linen width.
So for a 6′ x 30″ rectangle table, with a standard dining height of 30″, the correct floor length linen size would be 90″ x 132″.
We’ve taken the length of the table top which is 6′, or 72″ inches and added the 2 x the height, or 60″, giving us the floor length linen length of 132″. We’ve then taken the width of the table top which is 30″, added 2 x the height, or 60″, giving us the floor length linen width of 90″.
For round tables, take the diameter of the round table top, and add (2 x the height). So for a 30″ round cocktail table, that has a standing height of 42″, we take the diameter of the top round of 30″, and add 2 x the height of the table to give us the floor length linen size of 114″ Round.
