PLEASE B SEATED’S FOUNDING AND HISTORY AS A PARTY RENTAL COMPANY

NEW YORK, NY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2013 – Please B Seated, a new boutique event rental company servicing clients in New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut, and New Jersey, is pleased to announce the launch of their company.

Please B Seated is a new kind of event rental company. They will work with a small roster of clients, including caterers and party planners, and will focus on sourcing hard-to-find items delivered with an emphasis on service and reliability.

“We’d like to be a calm, reliable part of the often hectic event business,” said founder John Dawson.  “We’re keeping our client list small to give individualized attention.”

Dawson is a thirty-year plus party rental veteran in the Tristate area. Along with Ray Duffy, he started Tristate Party Rentals in 1977, after they both worked in catering. Tristate later merged with Service Party Rental to form TriServe (a Zagat top rated party rental company). TriServe was subsequently acquired by Classic Party Rentals, the biggest rental company in the industry.

Dawson left Classic a few years back, and he began to think about starting his own company. He was interested in combining high-quality service with uncommon products on a small, individualized scale. This is the inspiration behind Please B Seated.

Although caterers, event planners, and others in the business can order all the standard faire, specialized items are a focus of Please B Seated. The company sources hard-to-find items and makes and refurbish many of their products in their warehouse.

The company likes products with good stories, like the Mason Jar Cocktail Shakers, from a small company out of Brooklyn, or their refurbished church pews, rescued from a church in Queens.

Please B Seated aims to be a good company in every sense of the word. Good to their clients (and their clients) good to our employees, and they’d like to be able to give some good back to the world, too. Please B Seated donates a portion of our proceeds to charities including Island Harvest.
